Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> General Controller Setting -> Check PS4 Configuration Support
  2. Restart steam client
  3. On the next launch, the steam client crashing when the "Using a controller?" window appears.

Hello @NTMan, this backtrace goes a bit deeper than the others into the opengl driver stack, but the top of the crashing thread matches #5489. Closing as a duplicate.
