When I start Steam, it hangs at this point:

Running Steam on ubuntu 16.04 64-bit
STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically
Pins up-to-date!
Installing breakpad exception handler for appid(steam)/version(1521502351)

After this point nothing happens. The system monitor says Steam is "Sleeping". I have tried this: https://askubuntu.com/questions/771032/steam-not-opening-in-ubuntu-16-04-lts which did not work. I have also tried reinstalling Steam, which did not work. It used to work fine on this operating system, maybe as little as a month ago.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Try to start Steam

Whoops, sorry for the false alarm. Turned out I just forgot to reboot to complete the system update.

Nothing extracted yet.
