If you select the Windows Only dropdown at http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey, Ubuntu is listed under 'Windows Version'.

If you select the Mac Only dropdown at the same URL, Ubuntu is not listed under 'OSX Version'

There is no Linux Only option.

(Also there should be a space between OS and X)

Also it would be nice to split "Other" to "Other Linux" and "Other MacOS".

It would be nice to see a Linux only page, since there's stats for other distros being collected (Linux Mint appears in the Windows page) it would be nice to see the survey results for that.

It would also be a good place to show more linux specific information like:
kernel version
GPU driver / Version
Desktop environment

From an integration perspective knowing it's Ubuntu/Linux Mint doesn't really tell us much integration wise..

The hwsurvey page as a whole could do with a refocus on data points like
those. The amount of data valve seems to be (or at least could be)
collecting isn't expressed very well. The page is more set up for DirectX
version and other broad information that valve were interested in when the
page was first published.

Some greater transparency on the statistics too would be nice too.

There is now a Linux only option, so maybe this can be closed? (or left open if we want to do the other suggestions in this ticket as well)

Makes sense to close this, the general issue has been fixed since start of the year. Will post on steamworks to ask for a better breakdown.
