Hello @LouisCyfer, is this a new ubuntu install or is your home folder and/or steam folder from an older install?
Can you check if pinning the steam runtime variant of libfontconfig makes a difference?
Something like: ln -s ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libfontconfig.so.1 ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/pinned_libs_32/libfontconfig.so.1
When checking dependencies, you'll get a more accurate output with something like:
cd ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32
LD_LIBRARY_PATH="." ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/run.sh ldd steamui.so
it is an attempt to check out the new ubuntu including checking out if steam even runs. I might just stick with Ubuntu 16.04, glad I have a copy :D
my assumptions is the latest OS plus all these incremental changes it brings also complications which might not bring all libs. Thatfor i created a ticket, needed a day to seach for this problem alone here in github :/
sorry for my 2 cents, hope this gets fixed so Ubuntu 18.04 can be used for one more reason :)
