It would be nice to have some kind of indicator that shows you are playing via Proton / Steam Play. That way I know if, say I enabled the advanced Steam Play options to open up usage on all games, or override the native option, that I know what I am using without doing ps -ef.

Thanks!

Hello @mtdeguzis, this is indicated in the steam client with the "Runs on this computer via Steam Play" message to the right of the play button with the Detail view of Steam.

HI @kisak-valve , I don't see that kind of information in BPM/SteamOS. I suppose BPM/SteamOS are the minority :)

Thanks for clarifying the scenario you are seeing.

@kisak-valve @Plagman in my opinion situation with existence of native Linux versions and white listed Steam Play versions should be simplified.
For these two options should be used one penguin icon like in GOG store.
Currently there is used SteamOS icon instead of the penguin one and only for native Linux versions.
As Valve strongly invests in Linux solutions, it would be great to promote Linux among Windows users in this simple iconic way.
Instead of SteamOS + Linux there should be only Linux because SteamOS is a Linux distro like Ubuntu and others. This separation is unneeded.

I don't know if I should create separate issue for this suggestion because I couldn't find existing one.

Nothing extracted yet.
