For almost half a year, all GoldSrc games, even Sven-Coop, will not launch for me. When I click play, it will say "Running", but nothing happends. I've tried with two different window managers, bspwm and i3, both have the same results. All other games launch fine. I thought this would all iron itself out, and played CSGO in the meantime, but I miss 1.6, and this bug still remains. All other games launch fine. Steam runtime is DISABLED.

Hello @shoober420, are there any hints in the terminal spew? (logged at /tmp/dumps/<username>_stdout.txt)

Also, does running steam with steam-runtime instead of steam-native make a difference?

Can you completely close steam, then run STEAM_RUNTIME_PREFER_HOST_LIBRARIES=0 steam-runtime in a terminal and see if that has an effect on the game?
