Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): Sep 20, 2018
  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Arch Linux
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: [Yes/No] Yes
  • Have you checked for system updates?: [Yes/No] Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

When playing some games (namely Bound by Flame) the right trigger on the Dual-Shock 4 is misinterpretted to mean the start button (it brings up the options menu) when it should produce a parry. I've seen this in one or two other games, but I can't remember them.

Note that this happens even if I remove all bindings for the controller.

Now comes the part that makes it relevant to ValvE and Steam.

If theory, I should be able to override this input with the Steam Controller API stuff, however it appears as if both the DS4's signal and the emulated 360 controller's signals are being sent.

I can work around this by using SC-Controller instead of Steam's own emulation.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Plug in a DS4 (I have only tried wired)
  2. Luanch Bound by Flame
  3. Play the game
  4. pull R2.

Hello @nstgc, are you still experiencing this issue on an up to date system?

I haven't tried in a very long time. I'll download it now and test the game this weekend.
