Steam Chat is proving to be very finicky with tiling window managers like i3, Awesome, xmonad, dwm, etc. I think it would be useful if Steam Chat had the option to disable friends list + chat window conjoining "feature".

I'm using i3 on Fedora Linux with the latest Steam Beta Build. What I'm currently experiencing is that I cannot place the Steam Chat and Steam Friends window in adjacent tiles without Steam getting all trigger happy and conjoining the two windows -- even if they're stacked vertically.

The "toggle window docking" button doesn't address this issue whatsoever since it only works some of the time, seemingly without any rhyme or reason, and disappears whenever I even try to get the windows in the configuration I desire (my friends list in the top half of a container, and the chat window in the bottom half of a container).

I would be very happy to see an option that's just a hard switch that completely turns this "feature" off.
