elementary OS Loki (Ubuntu 16.04)
Steam stable fully updated.

Using export SDL_VIDEO_MINIMIZE_ON_FOCUS_LOSS=0 since that's the correct behavior on MacOS and on elementary OS

1- Put a purchased video in fullscreen mode.
2- Press Super+Right to go to the next workspace.
3- Press Super+Left to go back to the fullscreen video.

Since the arrow key is not ignored when pressed in conjunction with the Super key, the video goes back a couple of seconds (rewind). The video player should ignore the OS shortcuts.

Edit: I noticed that PgDown also plays the next video. Can anyone that uses Gnome confirm if going to the next workspace (Super+Pgdown) triggers Steam's video player "go to next next video shortcut"?

Hello @Blast-City, as far as I know, it's at the desktop environment's discretion to capture their global keyboard shortcuts before they are passed to the application. This issue should be reported to the desktop environment's dev(s).

You're probability right, but I remember seeing a similar issue on retroarch and they (retroarch devs) fixed it.

I just tested it on a Firefox in fullscreen and there is no issues. Terminal also doesn't have steam's video player problem.

Edit: The retroarch info is false. I tried it again and it has the same issue. A better way to see how the video player is supposed to work is through mpv. The OS shortcuts doesn't affect the mpv window.

Just to add some more info:

This only seems to happen when you switch to the video player wokspace. Switching from the video player to another workspaces doesn't cause the video to fast/back-forward. Fullscreen or not doesn't matter, which leads me to believe that this is not a compositor issue.

Retroarch is also suffering from this issue. mpv is not.

To rule out if this is an OS issue, could a non Gnome/elementary user share if this is also happening?
