This is more of a plea or meta-bug.

Given that there is a plethora of racing sims working natively under Linux i'd like to ask Valve to get in contact with Guillemont Corp and work out a Linux/Steam os driver for their line up of popular force feedback wheels:

  • T500
  • T300RS
  • T150

and their common accessories:

  • TH8 RS H-Shifter
  • T3PA pedal addon

All of the above lack proper support, the forcefeedback is nonexistent. There is no calibration tool. The lowlevel documentation is nonexistent.

We (as in gamers/customers) have been trying to obtain any kind of support from the manufacturer - sadly without any impact - and are locked in to using Windows or gaming consoles. Hoping that Valve can make a bigger impact.

Effort unrelated to this issue tracker brought kernel support to linux 5.13 and newer (https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=c49c33637802a2c6957a78119eb8be3b055dd9e9).

Nothing extracted yet.
