Steam Crashes on Restart After Turning on Steam Play

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

After turning on Steam Play in my options and restarting Steam as prompted my Steam fails to open until I reset / delete my config. I have installed 1.0.0.61 update and still got the same problem.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Install ( or reset / delete config )
  2. Turn on Proton / Steam Play
  3. Restart
Running Steam on Linux 5.0-ck1 64-bit
STEAM_RUNTIME is enabled automatically

no longer on that so i have no clue, it was probably my custom kernel causing problems
