I can't reproduce this issue. Is it something that happens consistently or sporadically? You mention a delay -- are you saying that the game is initially removed from the category but then later reverts back to being in the category? How long does this take?
@davidw-valve The time seems to be inconsistent, however I've seen it happen between 3 and 15 minutes. I may close this as the Windows client is doing it now too. I'm not sure why, but on neither category, I cannot remove Splice from "Not Working on Linux"
Not sure if this is relevant, but I noticed something similar if Steam was left running on my Windows box while it was suspended - any changes I made to categories from the Linux client on another machine would be reverted when I unsuspended my Windows box.
It's been in position for a while now; it hasn't switched back. Luckily, other games (Closure, for example) aren't exhibiting this behavior. I'll close for now and re-open if the issue should resurface.
Nothing extracted yet.

Having set up categories on both Linux and Windows (same games in same categories), I went to remove Splice from the "Not working on Linux" category while on Linux.
I tried the following two methods, both resulting in it automatically returning to the previous category:
The delay between removing seems to vary, but I've duplicated the issue twice, the entire time not going to a Windows install.
