Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I expect nothing to happen when my computer goes to sleep/wakes up. However I get logged out. I only get logged out, I can access all public pages with no problem. But I can't access account-related pages and actions.

Launching a game fixes it.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Launch Steam
  2. Suspend the computer
  3. Wake up the computer.

Hello @JeanMarcZimmer, this issue is already being tracked at #474. The Steam client's behavior should have improved with the current beta release.

It's not this. I should have mentioned it, I fell on it when searching on google.

I can still access store pages. Also my profile still appears locally. I can even play online. The client only is logged off.

No, I'm not getting disconnected while in-game.
However, as just launching a game resolves the problem, It's not a severe issue.

This is kind of expected and different from the linked bugs in that you're going to sleep. There are many reasons why you'd get disconnected, least of which is steam directly.

How long are you entering sleep for ? Are any other processes affected? Something you can try for example is ssh. If the connection drops on resume then it's either your firewall or some combination of OS/networkwork settings. Having said that Steam should be able to recover, kinda difficult if you're sleeping for a while either way.

I don't even remember having such problem. Well I guess since I reinstalled my whole PC 2 or 3 times since then, it makes sense.
