Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

While trying to find a workaround to the overlay issue in gallium-nine enabled proton prefixes, I stumbled onto the steam browser protocol page.

I decided to use steam://forceinputappid/{APPID} in the launch options so that I could still use my customized controller configuration for games without overlay support. The issue came when I attempted to restore my desktop configuration when the game closed. From reddit and the steam community, I learned that steam://forceinputappid/0 should restore the Desktop configuration.

Unfortunately, the option has no effect (or is perhaps Microsoft Windows-specific?).

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Use steam://forceinputappid/{APPID} to override your Desktop configuration
  2. Attempt to restore your Desktop configuration with steam://forceinputappid/0

Nothing extracted yet.
