Your system information

  • Steam client version : Unknown, latest stable
  • Distribution : Arch
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

The setup has the following computers:

  1. Linux desktop (LD)
  2. Linux laptop (LL)
  3. Windows VM in Linux Laptop (WV))
  4. Android Steam Link (AS)
All computers are in the same network.

LD connect to LL: mostly fail, rare random success
AS connect to LL: Always success
LL connect to LD: mostly fail, rare random success
AS connect to LL: Always success
LD connect to WV: mostly fail, rare random success
LL connect to WV: mostly fail, rare random success
AS connect to WV: Always success (no DX driver, thus no big screen mode)

From streaming_log.txt and connect_log.txt, no connection from Linux Stream at all.
Further more, all system are using both IPv4 (172.16.0.0/24) and IPv6 address.
Firewall is already disabled, and Android Steam Link works proves it.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Setup steam with Linux Steam as client, and any other Stream as Server
  2. Try to use Remote play from Linux Steam

BTW, all Linux devices are using the same Arch setup, both native and runtime tested the same.

Not sure if that's the same bug.

In my environment, no segfault or crash. Just client fails to connect to remote computer.
On the host, the game is being started correctly by remote play, thus only the client part fails to connect.

@adam900710 That's the same issue. Linux streaming client is completely broken. Game will run fine on host. Client fails to connect and usually crashes.

I checked dmesg and found these lines, maybe it'll help.
