Steam client version (build number or date): Jul 18 2019
Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Debian Buster
Opted into Steam client beta?: [Yes/No] Yes
Have you checked for system updates?: [Yes/No] Yes
Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
This is not a problem specific to this Steam version.
Whenever there's a new Steam update a window with last changes info appears in the center of the screen and takes the focus. It doesn't matter what I'm doing, it abruptly stops any work I'm doing in my computer. If I press "Restart Steam" to ensure I don't miss the update another progress window appears out of nowhere and that's another interruption. Then, when the update has finished the last game I played starts. That's the third interruption.
It should use the notifications area of the DE so I could see them but continue with my work without interruptions. When clicking on the notification the Steam update window should open and do all the work inside the same window. No game should be started after completing the update.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Install Steam.
I enabled Steam Beta, not sure if this affects.
Try to do some work on you computer and wait for updates to arrive.
