There is a commonly known problem in Killing Floor on windows that if you change your settings from OpenGL to Direct3D or vice versa, it may cause the game to not launch. This can be fixed by deleting killingfloor.ini in the ~/steam/steam/SteamApps/common/KillingFloor/System. However, this file does not exist on the linux counterpart.
