This feature request is actually not directly related to Linux only. It may also affect Mac.

How about adding a _Please port to my OS_ button in any game shop of Steam? Therefore, game developers and Valve get an idea, which games people would like to buy for which OS. By clicking this button the user shows his/her interested in buying this game for a currently not supported OS.

Another way might be to use Wishlist or Greenlight functionality to implement a similar approach. The main reason for this solution would be that it's already implemented. Via pressing this button the user could add this game to a _Linux OS Wishlist_. Or Valve could "just" bring the Greenlight features to existing games. This would give Valve and game studios an idea of the demand for a port of that game.

On the other side users would be happy that they could show their demand for a port of this game without starting one of these forum threads like: Please port game X to Linux. Which never give game developers an idea what the real demand for this port might be.

Making everything public can also help to get more attention of even more customers to support a proposal. Might look like a monthly "Hardware Survey" or just the Top 3 wanted games for each OS.

Duplicate of #447, but I must admit this request looks better to me. :)
