Hello @SFort, you can not embed full browsers into other applications (vs using their embedded framework), so the latter assumption will not happen.
I'm not going to summary close this request in case a Valve dev wants to explore calling xdg-open in more places when the web component is disabled or to clarify if -no-browser is for troubleshooting purposes and generally not supported.
I didn't mean embeding a browser.
I would like the store button to just call xdg-open in this situation.
I hope that if -no-browser is not concidered a feature that valve reconsiders it as an option
since it's usefull and makes the client more stable and usable in my experience
Would be nice to have ability to call xdg-open on links by right clicking on them and showing context menu (right now it only have Copy related stuff . Should be a good start. Steam already do open non-steam related domains in external browser, but sometimes I like to be able to open some steam pages in external browser too (i.e. to bookmark them, or have multiple tabs open, to store pages, discussion pages, etc). You can do it by doing copy paste, but it is a bit tedious.

If the client has disaibled the built in browser (-no-browser)
make the urls open in the systems prefered browser.
I'm assuming that would also fix it for the store, community and profile menus.
