I'm having the same problem with a Dualshock 4 on Arch Linux. Can you share the output of ls -al /dev/input and ls -al /dev/input/by-id?

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
I am using a Playstation 3 controller / Dualshock 3 controller to play my games on steam. I connected it by using the Bluez-utils and Bluez-plugin method. The issue I'm having with the controller is that I get duplicate inputs while in game. Duplicate may not be the correct term because it's not always the same input that gets sent but I think this is because the duplicate input is a controller that has no configuration loaded.
When I go into big picture mode there are 2 controllers listed while I only have one connected. When I click on "Identify" only one of the 2 listings will make the controller vibrate. However, the specific listing depends on whether or not the controller is connected via USB or Bluetooth. Because of this I think there is an issue with steam detecting 2 controllers one for USB and one for Bluetooth. And that one of them does not get configured by steam which is the cause of the mismatching duplicate inputs.
