Unable to purchase games through Big Picture: Paypal won't load

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I am unable to purchase games through Big Picture. I can add games to the cart, go to the checkout process, but the moment it opens the built-in browser to handle the payment through Paypal, the page remains blank.

I haven't tried to reproduce when running the classic Steam interface.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Add one or more games to your cart
  2. Follow the checkout process
  3. Opt for payment through Paypal
  4. A browser tab opens in the Steam client
  5. The page remains blank

Same problem on iOS App version 3.2.5.
Maybe it‘s not linking to PayPal correctly but it‘s also bad that PayPal would not render a decent error message in this case.
The URL rendered from the iOS page was of the following form.

I tried Chrome with the same URL while the console was activated, and got this console error
ERROR ppxo_xo_buttonjs_bootstrap_err [object Object]
Unfortunately this seems to be a quite incomplete error message.
The only internet find to this error message was here:
