Sorry, forgot about that. Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit with 313.09 proprietary nVidia drivers (9600GT).
The steps to reproduce the issue:
Cant seem to reproduce this here on 12.04 with 310.19, would you attach the output from steam if you run it in a terminal.
Sure, here's the output:

@soeb - can you reproduce this problem? I cannot. Were you doing any voice chat or anything? That assert is from libjingle but I don't see why we would be there in offline mode. If you still have that crash dump file (/tmp/dumps/crash_20130115163400_1.dmp) I would like to get a copy of it. Or if you can create another. Normally they get automatically uploaded but in this case you have no network...
I cannot anymore, after the last Steam update (I only checked now, so I couldn't really tell before). So this was fixed along with something else, and I can't get Steam to crash anymore (as well as Trine2 now has access to all its save files regardless of connection status).
I have the same issue. Latest Steam, latest Trine 2. Linux Mint 13 64-bit, fully updated.
Nothing extracted yet.
Pretty much what happens. Also, seems like the savegames are unavailable when Steam is in offline mode.
