The client launches fine and even updated a few of my games normally but when I try to launch a game, I get this error message (see title). Restarting Steam does not solve the issue, no updates are downloaded or extracted/applied on startup after multiple attempts.
Build version is Apr 27 2020 at 21:53:22, using the most up-to-date Debian testing package from an official Debian mirror (steam_1.0.0.62-2_i386).
This is on my laptop installation which I hadn't launched in a while. Desktop install (different machine) seemed to be running fine earlier today but I'll update if that one breaks as well. Both machines are basically identical setups of Debian testing, kept up-to-date fairly often.
Steam has updated itself and the issue has been fixed. Probably a CDN propagation issue where the "must update" order reached me before the new package itself?
