Steps for reproducing this issue:

I can't start civilization from GUI

After google a bit, i see that LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libfreetype.so.6 steam steam://rungameid/289070 start's my game, but without LD_PRELOAD, it not work too.

Hello @souenzzo, this issue was already evaluated at https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/6234#issuecomment-619045979 and needs to be resolved by the game's devs.
