Your system information

  • Steam client version: 2020-07-08
  • Distribution: Ubuntu
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

In the system tray menu, the tick / check mark is stuck next to Online even when I'm actually Invisible or Offline.

When I select Invisible or Offline, the tick should move to the corresponding line in the tray menu. Instead, although my online status correctly changes (as shown correctly in the friends list window), the system tray menu still shows a tick next to Online.

online-always-ticked

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. In Steam: Settings: Interface: Set Taskbar Preferences, make sure Online, Invisible, and Offline are enabled.
  2. Open Steam's system tray icon menu, and select Invisible or Offline.
  3. Open Steam's system tray icon menu again, and notice that Online is still selected.
  4. In the Friends window, notice that despite what the tray menu says, the status was correctly changed.
