Hello @thingsiplay, Steam Cloud operations are handled by the Steam client, not Proton, so I've transferred this issue report to the steam-for-linux issue tracker.
@kisak-valve You are right, i did not think of it. Sorry and thank you for not just deleting the thread.
I believe this game could get a whitelisted state, if this little issue is done. It seems something very trivial, so I hope this can be resolved without much work from the developers.
I just want to report that whatever caused the problem, this issue is solved now.
Nothing extracted yet.
Edit: Replaced the id with xxxxxx.

I confirm:
I did not launch the game. Description below.
Symptoms
Years ago I played a game in Windows 10 called "Redout", because it was not playable on Linux back then. Then a while back I tried it through Proton in Steam. Upon start it says there could be an issue with save file and if I continue, my progress could get lost (assuming its talking about the Cloud backup). I tried it again.

The strange thing is, it works in Lutris with same account without this issue. When comparing the save files md5sum from both directories, I get the exact same checksum:
Steam
Lutris
What should I do? I don't want just click "Play", because it says I could lose the progress as it would overwrite the Cloud files. But i don't understand. Both files are exactly the same. BTW, this message appeared before installing Lutris as well, so its not the issue here. Game is installed fresh right now. I don't have such a problem with other games through Proton.
