Hello @jannis3005, have you seen this issue while using steam-runtime instead of steam-native?
Hey @kisak-valve this has been occurring whilst using steam-native. I've made sure all libraries are up to date
Using steam-native is unsupported. We recommend steam-runtime.
Hey @kisak-valve @TTimo I have run into this issue with steam-runtime just today.
I am also using Arch Linux with the latest kernel.
I have the same format of journalctl logs as with jannis, with different numbers.
How reproducible is the problem? op qualified it as "sometimes when I play games my pc randomly freezes". Overall this reads like a driver problem.
Well, it is certainly reproducible - but the time it takes to segfault is random. For me it can occur as long as I have steam open, native or runtime. Sometimes I am just browsing on Google Chrome or using Discord - and my computer just suddenly freezes entirely. Ctrl+Alt TTYs don't respond either. I haven't experienced it yet while playing any games though.
I've just experienced this too for the very first time. Wasn't playing, just using my browser with Steam running in the background as usual.

Unfortunately wasn't able to do a core dump.
I'm using Steam beta on Arch, Ryzen first gen and Nvidia GPU with latest drivers.
I also got this today after resuming from a suspend (I noticed that every shortcut I could execute steam with is Steam-Native)
I am running Arch.

I captured a trace of what I believe to be the same bug, I've attached it to this comment.

Same here but its starts to happen when i switch my kernel to a linux tkg kernel (6.3, BMQ, and numa disabled because errors on compiling)
the log that i could get
log.txt
(also in the beta with the new UI i cant get the system information, doesnt show and doesnt copy anything)
I do have these kind of random segfaults involving GpuWatchdog and the libcef.so of Steam whenever I re-enable "Enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views" in Steam settings.
I know it is highly tempting to enable this setting, notably during Steam sales (the current Summer Sale frontpage of Steam client absurdly uses 2,5 cores on my Ryzen 3600X CPU / 4K monitor setup !) but I highly suggest to avoid it for now (and also avoid Steam frontpage from inside the linux client, use a real browser).
You won't miss anything as GPU acceleration does not seem to work anyway. ( https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/9675 )
(Ubuntu 23.04, kernel 6.3.7, Wayland, AMD Radeon 5700XT,Mesa 23.0.2, Steam non-beta 1687386907)
Edit : I had chromium opened in background, so it might also interest users involved in this bug report : https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/9793
This affects more than just Steam. Users of the Electron framework could help by working together.

Your system information
Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
For a few days now, sometimes when I play games my pc randomly freezes. This does happen especially when I play RocketLeague through Proton or Cities Skylines. However, this does not seem to be a Problem with the games but more with Steam. Here's a Short snippet from journalctl after the crash:
I have not been able to find any more info as to why this happens, but steamwebhelper seems to cause a segfault from my understanding.
