Fatal Error: Steam failed to load

Steam started up once, loaded / updated the software. Now I get this when trying to start it:

Fatal error: Steam failed to load: *SteamStartEngine(0xffbb2f40) failed with error 1 CMultiFieldBlob(pSerialized): Partial field header at end of record.

From the looks of that error, it seems the update didn't download completely.

Try deleting ClientRegistry.blob and then launch Steam.
