Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): Can't start but I'm guessing the latest or the one before?
  • Distribution: Manjaro 20.2.1 64-bit
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Describe what you expected should happen and what did happen.
So yesterday everything worked fine, upgraded the system (sudo pacman -Syu) and went to sleep, today I wake up and steam is telling me that there is no internet even tho internet works and also I can even login to steam from the browser but the client doesn't work.
I tried stuff that people on the manjaro forum said to try but nothing fixed the issue.
Here is the link to the manjaro forum post for details: ##https://forum.manjaro.org/t/steam-doesnt-start-says-trouble-connecting-to-steam-servers/53489/22

Also I saw Issue#7576 and tried to follow the solution but I'm sure if I did it correctly since I'm not that well versed in services or network stuff.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Update system with sudo pacman -Syu
  2. run steam

Here is the output when running steam:

Thanks in advance.

Some searching around I found that the solution was: sudo systemctl enable --now nscd.service

Nothing extracted yet.
