Hi all,

I have an issue with streaming games that run through Proton. The games start correctly on the machine running the games (Archlinux, up to date Steam and Proton install based on the KDE desktop environment), but on the client (Nvidia Shield or Intel Laptop) I only hear the sound, and the image is stuck at the loading screen. In the lower red corner, I get a red antenna indicating network issues.

Games I tried to run remotely on my Archlinux Machine (AMD graphics) using Proton: Tekken 7, The Witcher 3, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.

Native games I streamed from the same machine that worked flawlessly: Rise of the Tomb Raider, Trine, Road Redemption.

Did I miss something? I was googling around, tried to switch NetworkManager from dhclient to dhcpd, updated everything a few times, tried different versions of Proton, and tried a few things with the graphics settings. However, I could not fix this issue. I am happy to provide more information if needed. I just was not sure, if the issue is maybe known and documented and I just missed it. Or maybe it is not related to Proton?

Best,
Johann

Hello @jogrue, Steam's remote play feature is part of the Steam client, not Proton itself, so I've transferred this issue to the steam-for-linux issue tracker.

Thank you! That pointed me in the right direction. And I am sorry that I did not spot this issue earlier, but I think mine is a duplicate of https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/7130
