Have you checked for system updates?: Yes
Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Add a non-Steam shortcut
Launch the non-Steam shortcut
Press Shift+Tab to bring up the Steam Overlay
Select Force Quit/Exit Shortcut
Actual:
5. Nothing happens or the overlay disappears and cannot be brought back again (overlay crashed?)
Expected:
5. Game exits
Notes:
this affects both Desktop mode and Big Picture mode
some non-Steam shortcuts seem to exit successfully (needs further investigation, but games that can successfully exit appear to be launched through a shell script)
Steam used to run games as children of 'SteamChildMonit', but this seems to no longer be the case, is this an intentional change?
A side effect of the above change is that external tools such as https://github.com/gamer-os/steam-buddy can no longer determine which processes to exit to shutdown a game
