Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): July 20 2021
  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Arch Linux
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: Yes
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Upon launching any of the native Saints Row games from the Steam client they fail to launch. Although the titles are not developed by Valve the issue may (I don't exactly know) be caused by something related to Steam? I am led to suspect this as none of the games have updated thus the only thing that I can think of that would have changed would either be the Steam client or some graphics driver or something.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Simply launch any of the Saints Row games (works with Saints Row 2, The Third, 4 and Gat out of Hell)

Just want to add I've played some of the titles on Linux through Steam before and they ran perfectly fine then but not now

Hello @emmy-06, this issue should also be mentioned to the game's dev(s).

Turns out it will run under Ubuntu rather than arch (and no doubt other distros which use Debian as a base). I then tried it as a flatpak and the game did in fact work under arch.

Nothing extracted yet.
