Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

With the last update I can't turn off my wireless controller (DualShock 4) with the shortcut "Home+Triangle" anymore. Tested on my secondary computer with Steam not yet updated and it works, so the issue is introduced with the Sep 10 update.
The shortcut to kill/quit an application doesn't work anymore either (tested with my DS4 and my wired Xbox 360 controller).

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Press Home+Triangle (or Y) with a wireless controller connected to Bluetooth
  2. The controller should turn off, but nothing happens

Able to confirm that this also occurs on my system, with both my DS5 and DS4 controllers.

2 years later and it's still an issue, any idea what is the problem? Same thing with the volume with "home+joystick up/down" and probably other shortcuts. Taking a screenshot works though.

Still doesn't work with my Dualshock 3 controller. On a Steam Controller the command works just fine.

It's annoying that this doesn't work since PC shutdown turns off the controller perfectly fine.

I've noticed as well that idle controllers wont get turned off. Ever. Regardless of the setting, they just sit until the battery drains.

Just tested a DualShock 3. It still doesn't turn off from the chord binding.
