Hello @alarbey, as far as I know, there is no out of the box integration between primusrun and Steam. Are you sure that you didn't manipulate your system to call that along with Steam? How are you starting Steam when you see that message?
I tried running /usr/games/steam (script) and .steam/bin32/steam (binary), and I have the same problem in both cases. What looks strange to me is that "primusrun" is called "primus", but in Debian there is normally no "primus". So I really have the impression that primus is integrated in steam.
Nothing extracted yet.
Your system information
Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
primusrun is not working properly on my laptop, and I used instead PRIME without having bumblebee/optirun/primusrun installed.
However, when starting steam, I get the following message:
"Installing breakpad exception handler for appid(steam)/version(1633666232)
primus: fatal: failed to connect to Bumblebee daemon: No such file or directory"
meaning that steam tries to run primus, which is not installed. As a consequence, steam does not launch.
Is there any way to prevent steam from using primus and to use PRIME instead?
