Everytime I launch Steam client, a steam_proton explorer window pointing at ~.steam\ubuntu12_32 will spawn.

At launch with terminal this is the output

Hello @emmecii, this reads like it's related to #8114. Can you tell what version of Proton is running when that window is spawned?

Nneur0mancer746 2021-10-14 github

Unfortunately not but i can exclude it was Proton 6.3 because i uninstalled it for troubleshooting, i have also 4.2, 5.0, 5.13 and 6.3 installed

But I have an old GE Proton build i don't use anymore, i'm looking to remove it

Deleting that old GE build seems the issue disappeared

Thanks. I think it's safe to say that this was a previously hidden quirk of the third party Proton build, and not a Steam client issue. Closing in favor of #8114.
