Hello @psinger, can you check if ~/.steam/root/logs/content_log.txt has any hints around the time that Steam tries to update Proton?

Again, completely purged everything, just installed Proton Experimental, same issue.

A moment ago I had exactly the same issue. The downloading of PE stopped at 109.5 MB out of 254.1 MB. I checked my internet connection and it's perfectly fine which IMO means this is a Steam server issue. I thought it was a regional server problem, so I switched to Germany and to Romania servers but with the same result - downloading stops at 109.5 MB and that's it. I also deleted the appmanifest for PE and deleted PE itself (which is basically a forced uninstall) but that didn't change anything either.
I also experience this today with Ubuntu, any news about it?

Whatever I do, I get the following message when starting a game with proton experimental (it is same error for other games):
I already purged everything multiple times and tried to re-install Proton and games, without any success. Also tried to clear cache and repair the library folder.
