Hello @juanitotc, Steam shouldn't care about the bitness of the X server. If possible, please copy your system information from Steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) and put it in a gist, then include a link to the gist in this issue report.
This sounds like libcef failed to initialize for some reason.

If steam doesn't care about the bitness of the X server, why does it complain that the following are 64-bit:

Got it - with LIBGL_DRIVERS_PATH="/usr/local/lib/dri:/usr/local/lib32/dri" the content browser window appears as expected.
Glad to hear you've gotten it running. This looks like you didn't give Steam a sane environment to run in and 64 bit mesa being broken was a system config issue.
The starting point was a pure 64-bit system - i.e. no symlink /lib64 -> /lib, hence it was the 32-bit part that wasn't entirely sane (libGL was copied from a pure 32-bit system).
It would help if steam looked at /usr/local/etc as well as /etc

Using a 64-bit xorg-server and supplying 32-bit libraries and drivers as requested by bin_steam.sh, I get to the login screen, but the content browser window is blank.
