Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): Last
  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): ubuntu server 20.04
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I'm running Steam Big Picture and my Steam Controller still works as mouse/keyboard and is not detected by big picture as a controller. I also don't have the Add Controller option anymore.
As keyboard and mouse I'm able to navigate inside big picture and launch games, although I do have some issues with steamlink with my Windows machine, and also some games don't recognize it as controller.
When I insert a xbox controller steams detect it as controller and work like a charm.

Those are my user groups: adm dialout cdrom sudo audio dip video plugdev games users input lxd

Hello @rokam, please note if you're using the Valve-provided Steam package or the distro-modified Steam package. If you're using the latter, then please check if you also have steam-devices installed as a system package (the Valve-provided variant bundles the contents of it).

Hey @kisak-valve I do use the Valve provided package, the .deb downloaded from the website. The udev file is inside /lib folder.

Nothing extracted yet.
