When I try to open the steam panel it doesn't work, but it displays this ''transparent'' thing, it's not clickable or anything, I can still take screenshots, but it doesn't display any notifications.

  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Debian 11 Bullseye
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Open Any Steam Panel Compatible Game
  2. Try opening the steam panel
  3. FAIL, it doesn't work at all

what i wanted to work;

be able to access the steam panel, and thus, use the friends list, browser, etc.

Removing MESA_NO_ERROR=1 from the environment fixes it.

I was experiencing the same issue. Downloading adriconf and setting a configuration to disable mesa errors log solved for me.
