Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): Mar 6 2022
  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Arch Linux
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: Yes
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

If value of system info has translated, it would be hard to parse or get data from non-English system info.
For example, I use Korean language interface, and system info shows my OS version as "Arch Linux"(64비트) "비트" means bits. Because of this when I summit report to protondb, it thinks I'm not using ArchLinux distro. This may be protondb website problem, but there may be other problems other than this website.

So, I think this kinda value should not be translated.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Use Korean interface (or any non-english interface)
  2. Goto System info (in Korean "시스템 정보")
  3. OS version shows as "ArchLinux"(64비트)

Hello @OctopusET, that section of Steam's system information is primarily supposed to be human readable, not machine readable. It is my opinion that this is not a bug. As a side note, ProtonDB is a third party website and is not affiliated with Valve.
