This is pretty much a wish froma Debian user.
Right now Steam depends on libpulse0 (>= 1:0.99.1), and this makes the .deb file incompatible with Debian ( since we use different versioning numbers, such as 2.1-2 ), is it possible to change the dependency to just "libpulse0" without specifying a version number, at least 'till you'll release a .deb package for Debian?
Pretty much all Ubuntu distros ship with the latest PulseAudio because the old versions can be quite unstable, so this shouldn't cause many issues...
