Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Opened Steam, let it update to the latest Beta and now the Steam window just won't open. It has the icon in my system tray, but it's not responsive.

It spams this in the log until I kill it:

src/clientdll/depotreconstruct.cpp (2069) : bDownloadMissingChunks || bReadFromInstalledFiles || BIsCancelled()

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Try Steam on Arch
  2. Install Beta
  3. Broke

Removing

~/.steam/steam/package/beta

Then doing:

steam --reset
steam

Has me back on the Stable branch for now, working as normal there.
