After I recovered from that issue, manually clearing the folder where roughly between ~14-20 GBs of data was dumped into a sub-directory of my home folder, I restarted the game to finish downloading the remaining workshop content and attempt to play where an issue occurred: it consistently freezes when I try to load into gameplay.
Then, it dawned on me: why isn't there an option to verify integrity for workshop items?
If, in such a scenario where downloaded workshop items could potentially have been corrupted, why is there not a mechanism to verify that?
Can this be made a feature?
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Have a download be (possibly) corrupted
Attempt to verify integrity of game files
The current implementation only accounts for the game itself, so workshop content is ignored
