On Fedora 35, when I open Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> General Controller Settings, briefly I can see the menu -- then the settings and controller settings windows go black and steam goes completely unresponsive. This has happened several times.
I'm uncertain how to tell the proton version of the steam client itself.
Upgrading to Nvidia proprietary drivers fixed this issue.
