Currently, the only way to Access Official and User Shared Profiles for Controllers on Non-Steam Games is to use the AppID of the Game that is already on Steam as a Name for the Shortcut.

That is not very User Friendly and quite a Hassle to set up especially on Steam Deck because you need to Rename the Shortcut. Load the Profile you want. Export that Profile because Renaming the Shortcut back does not carry over the selected Profile, and then Rename the Shortcut back. Now you have to Reload the Exported Profile.

My suggestion here is to not only check for the AppID, but also for the Store Name.
If the Non-Steam Shortcuts Name matches the Name the Game has on Steams Store 1:1, the Controller Setup should display the Profiles for that said Game from the Store.

Another Option would be the Matching of Executeable Names.

This was the Biggest Issue I had with my original Steam Controller and now it comes back to haunt me on the Deck too.

I think this is an essential feature for the Future of the Deck.

Nothing extracted yet.
