Your system information

  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Manjaro Linux
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: [Yes/No] Yes
  • Have you checked for system updates?: [Yes/No] Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Usually, when opening the game through Steam on Linux the, let's call Preparation Dialog (I don't know what it's called) will open and checks the game for file/update and compile/recompile Vulkan shaders and then open the game, or if the connection is not stable it open the question window to ask whether to continue to play or not, which is normal, but some times when I tried to open a game, it shows the Prep Dialog, do some checking (I believe), and then stop at "Ready to launch" and I have to manually click the "Play Game", even without anything wrong or is there any update.

Is this the intended behaviour? If it is then well, I wish it's not but I'll close this issue.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Choose some game, in my case it often time happens on Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (373420), maybe game specific?
  2. Open the game
  3. Wait for the "Prep Dialog" to open
  4. In my case, it's a game of chance, either the game opens immediately, or the "Prep Dialog" stops at "Ready to launch" waiting for the "Play Game" to be clicked.

It could be just a visual glitch, usually, there's a checkbox that tells Steam to automatically play the game when launching the game require Steam to check update and synchronise things, but IIRC it doesn't show on Shader Precaching/Compilation, and some of my encounters is probably that, no checkbox yet the game won't launch automatically after completing the procedures, I'll just close this issue for now since I don't really have any additional info or detailed condition or this is just human error on my part.

Nothing extracted yet.
