Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): June 7 2022
  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Ubuntu 20.04
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: [Yes/No] Tried both
  • Have you checked for system updates?: [Yes/No] Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Ubuntu 20.04 as mentioned, streaming to a Steam Link device. When I press the select button in-game, both trigger buttons are pressed (against my will). I tested two controllers and both had the problem.

This is not a configuration issue or anything, it happens in all games. In fact you can see it happen in the Support app-thing in the Controller Configuration menu. See this reddit thread for video.

Lastly, I'm not sure this is a Linux issue, I don't have Windows to try with.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Ubuntu 20.04 host
  2. Steam Link device client
  3. Steam Controller connected to Steam Link
  4. Press select in game / in the Support menu

It doesn't happen:

  1. When I connect the controller to the computer with a dongle
  2. When I connect the computer to Steam Link on an Android device (and use a Steam Controller via Bluetooth, but this usually has other issues...)

Nothing extracted yet.
