Steam client version (build number or date): Aug 20 2022, at 01:17:25
Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Ubuntu
Opted into Steam client beta?: No
Have you checked for system updates?: Yes
Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
When streaming a game from a Windows host to a Linux client, several games do not accept any controller input. Keyboard input will work but not the controller. Changing the controller options (Global, Forced On, Forced Off) does not affect the behaviour.
Games which the controller is not working: The Long Dark, Okami HD
Games which the controller works sometimes (in most cases stopping streaming and resuming makes the controller work, but in other cases it works sometimes but I have no idea about what causes it): Bad North, Citizen Sleeper, Dicey Dungeons, Horizon Zero Dawn, Valheim
Some games that simply work: Disco Elysium, Hades, It Takes Two, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, The Long Journey Home, Magicka, Outer Wilds, Rez Infinite, Tacoma, The Unfinished Swan,
In general I expect games to accept streaming controller input, but in particular I want to play The Long Dark. I don't know where to find useful logs to help identify the root cause. It does look like The Long Dark knows the controller is there (if I pop its battery out, it throws up a "controller disconnected" dialog that automatically goes away automatically once the controller reconnects). I think there might be something weird going on when streaming kicks in: The Long Dark has a warning dialog at startup that requires acknowledgement but something is pressing a button at startup. Logs would probably help see if there is anything to my suspicions.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Xbox 360 controller (I use it with the USB wireless receiver, however it is detected simply as Xbox 360 controller, both in the steam client as well as during streaming)
On my Linux machine in big picture mode I select Stream (from my windows host)
Game doesn't respond to controller inputs.

I do not think this #3136 (I have already made /dev/uinput globally read-writeable), or #6951 / #7715 (the problem seems to specific to specific titles). I also have tried unplugging the xbox 360 controller and replugging it in.
