Steam overlay gets triggered on game launch with latest beta

Since the latest beta update, launching a game brings up the Steam overlay. Behaviour was normal (overlay only being shown when manually invoked) in the beta until the update.

Can confirm. It also seems to freeze GTA V when opened. Not sure if this is related to the beta.
