Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Describe what you expected should happen and what did happen.

I was trying to adjust the controller settings while paused in a game via the overlay menu (Pressing the "Steam" button on my Deck, highlighting the game > controller settings > controller settings). I was trying to change the behavior of my Gyro, as I am using it as a joystick for this game. I faced a couple of bizarre issues under the Gyro Menu > Gyro Behavior (Joystick) Settings Gear > Dead Zones.

  1. With "Deadzone Type" set to "Default" or "Custom", selecting "Start Test" always shows the same value (Physical Joystick Position 0%, Translated Output Value 56%), and there is no way to change this value, I tried all of the Gyro axes, both joysticks, both touchpads, but regardless of what I did or when I did it, the test produces the same result.
  2. I then stopped the test and attempted to set a custom deadzone. I can navigate down to the slider bar, and select either the '0' or '100' value with 'A', but then I can't find any way to adjust these values. Once again, I tried every button. I've clearly selected a slider correctly, because the slider is highlighted and "Adjust Slider" at the bottom disappears and is replaced with "Done", but there is no way to alter the 0 or 100 values to create a custom deadzone. I verified that this affects all three dead zone shapes.

I have the same problem, stuck at 56%. It makes joystick and d-pad input completely unusable in game.

Update: The problem is visual only, the input problems were the result of a bug in Proton 7.0+ with Steam Input.

This is also present on the stable 3.3.2 SteamOS version on the Steam Deck. Build 20221005.1.

Not sure if this is the same issue but my deck actually crashes/force restarts immediately after switching to custom deadzone. Is anyone else experiencing a system crash?
